Sulapac co-founders Suvi Haimi and Laura Kyllönen are biochemists specializing in biomaterials. They launched their business with the goal of creating materials where sustainability is considered from the raw material stage through every step of the value chain. At the end of 2019, Sulapac raised €15 million and joined forces with beauty packaging provider Quadpack for the production and marketing of new packaging ranges.

Packaging that is truly sustainable must have a positive impact on the environment. Given the current limitations with global recycling infrastructure, the company designed its material to leave no trace microplastics if they accidentally end up in the natural environment.

Quadpack has released the new Sulapac Nordic Collection that uses a biodegradable and microplastic-free material made of FSC-certified wood chips and natural binders. They have all the benefits of plastic, yet they biodegrade completely and leave no microplastics behind.

Jennifer Barachet, Product Marketing Lead, Quadpack said, “We are proud to be Sulapac’s Preferred Global cosmetic packaging partner. Sulapac is a core element of our sustainable product development, giving brands the opportunity to invest in packaging that’s aesthetically stunning and fully circular. This range shows how packaging can have a positive impact, both on consumer experience and the environment.”

The Nordic Collection comes in a choice of nine colors and can be decorated using silk screening and pad printing, or the dappled wood texture can be left visible to highlight the pack’s sustainable nature, underscoring the brand’s green credentials. Available in 15ml, 30ml, and 50ml capacities, the Nordic Collection is perfect for oil-based or waterless products.

Truly sustainable packaging must have a positive impact on the environment. The Sulapac Nordic Collection is a view into the future of possibilities in beauty packaging.
